Early 50s Vintage Purple Gray Wool Skirt Suit Details:
- cool toned purple wool midi skirt suit with gray accents with a silk lining
- this suit was in very bad conditioned and has been reconditioned to make it wearable again but is by far from perfect so please see all images zoomed in and read the full condition description for details
- 3 pull over button tabs with two hidden snap buttons
- beautifully sculpted jacket with classic tailoring
- upper bodice features two tabs where collar sits in to slightly pop it out
- original side metal Talon brand zipper topped with two hook and eyes on silk waist edge that was added at some point along the way to increase waist size
- both skirt and jacket fully lined in silk
- an earlier 50s design
- side hip pockets in jacket and bracelet length sleeve
- all images were taken in natural light as it showed the true color of the suit best
- best for a small but please see both skirt and jacket measurements to ensure a good fit as skirt has been let out an inch or two
Condition: Good
- this has around 15 or so rewoven spots due to moths (4 on jacket and rest on skirt -i am not a professional with this and merely worked to blend the rewoven pieces in yet not a perfect match) ( jacket reweaves shown in split image)
- jacket has two small spots on sleeve where gray thread missing but purple still in tact
- 1 faint spot on upper left shoulder pointed to in image and bottom button optionally could be
- silk lining is fully discolored and skirt has skirt stain and discoloration
- jacket lining underarm area was tattering so I reinforced it with silk from a vintage blouse, one hole pointed to near reinforcement and two lining waist darts opened shown in split image
- someone let out the skirt long ago with the bottom lining of the skirt lining and silk has tear at top of waistband
- this presents beautifully in person and has been fully cleaned and is ready to wear
