40s Black Clam Babies Novelty Print XL Midi Dress Details:
- black dress with the cutest clam babies and clams in pink, blue, purple, yellow, white showing in an open clam with closed colorful clams around it
- tiered sleeves and tiered hip accents that stand out with waist pleats
- buttons fully down front and has a waist snap button and neckline snap button
- vertical bodice darts on front and back
- belt loops but no belt included so meant to blouse somewhat
- rayon slub fabric
- closest to an XL based on bust but please base purchase off of actual measurements compared to a similar garment as waist is a couple inches larger than XL (original owner and seamstress likely had a smaller bust and larger waistline and was quite short so she made it to fit her)
Condition: good
- all buttons were missing and replaced with vintage buttons but bottom button does not match though it is a close match
- a few small holes (one on clam baby, one under the front button placket and a couple on front placket all pointed to in image
- 3 seam repairs completed
- no belt as was mentioned
- hem is fully out and there is a ghost seam line where the original hem was along with an old inner placket repair pointed to in image
- some minor fading spots but nothing that really draws your attention to (this was shot in natural light so you can really see everything
- has not been cleaned but no odors to note
