60s Vintage Enid Collins Gay Birds Brown Wooden Box Purse Details:
- the classic wooden box purse made by Enid Collins
- hand decorated black painted "gay birds" along with amber colored rhinestone stomachs and a rhinestone flower
- top hinges at back and closes with a brass flip toggle that hooks through a leather tab
- double handles of leather with black paint and 4 small brass feet on bottom
- inner bag has small round mirror mounted and the signature of authenticity of a Collins of Texas Enid Collins bag
- shown in last image in natural light
Condition: Good
- leather has seen better days. I would consider it delicate. It has been treated one time but certainly needs conditioned more or backed by a stronger thin leather
- regarding the leather, there are multiple small cracks on both handles and closure tab along with some missing black paint and gauges
- exterior of box has many knicks and scratches, variation in finish along with some missing spots of paint on the main gay birds along with marks on the inside of the bag
- dent in top brass tack that holds on leather toggle flap and a handful or so spots on silvering of inner mirror- definitely was one of the original owners favorites but also most certainly lots of life left in her
