50s Vintage Size XL Ox Blood Red Leather Double Buckle Wide Cinch Belt Details:
- wide ox blood red leather hand tooled cinch belt made in Mexico
- double straps with double buckles
- best for a 32" - 35" waist but at two widest belt holes the tip of the leather don't go into the loop that holds it down flat against the main body
Condition: Good
- the leather has the start of some minor cracks shown in images but definitely still lots of life left
- it is possible the original twin leather pieces were replaced as they are a different color than the main leather and were made longer than the original ones were intended
- when i got this it had been polished to a brown, which i removed to reveal this great deep red color but there is still some remaining brown on the metal hardware
- the twin straps have more of a brown hue to them but i did polish them with an ox red
- there is a gauge on one end covered by the buckles (shown in image)
Measurements:
Waist - belt holes range from 32.5" at smallest to 35.5" largest setting but if set on the last two notches the leather wont go through the loop to hold them down and they hang loose (not a great look)
Main leather piece of belt is right under 29.5" in length
Width - 3 1/8" wide at largest point and tapers to 2" with the leather buckle tabs being .5" each
The belt could fit a smaller waist with the smallest size being 28.75" if the twin leather pieces were cut down and new holes punched. This is with the end of each side of the belt overlapped .75"
Brand/tag:
- I can't fully read the stamp on the belt but I think it says Mexico Leathergood
