50s Vintage Medium Black Taffeta Midi Cocktail Party Skirt Details:
- this appears to have been cut down as a dress by a previous owner but works great as a cocktail skirt
- a tulip wrap skirt with all of that dramatic ruched asymmetrical peplum that sweeps from the front and wraps the rear of the skirt to reach the opposite side of the skirt
- side metal Talon brand zipper topped silver hook and eye
- side flat pleating that drapes into the the left side ruching
- midi length below the knees
- fabric is rayon taffeta
- shown in last image on me when I wore this one time for a holiday party (in order to cover top band I used a wide red leather cinch belt)
- best for a smaller size medium but please base purchase off of actual measurements
Condition: good
- as previously mentioned this looks to have been cutdown from a dress
- side with zipper is slightly higher where the original zipper of the dress was left
- person that altered this used silk as an inner waistband that tends to move up so this optionally could be secured with some stitches or a hardier inner waistband added and silk band has a small hole at very front that cant be seen when worn
- ghost seams where waist darts were let out prior to adding silk inner band
- slight old iron shine to some areas
- has not been cleaned but no stains to note and did have a dusty odor when steamed
