Vintage 50s Solid Birch Wheat Finish Buffet Cabinet Set Details:
- Style number M 1566 G
- leaves drop down to a small footprint
- all pieces are solid birch (no veneer)
- table has 2 center legs that stay in place and 4 legs on hinges that swing out to hold up the leaves
- original finish that has been polished
- unsure of finish color as isn't marked (i think it is champagne) but shown in image with a wheat caned chair in front of it next to a platinum china hutch and dogbone chair unsure of finish as well to give perspective of color
- would work well in a small kitchen folded down and then put out for dining
- Heywood logo stamped on underside along with being documented in the Roland Heywood guide

- 3 dog bone chairs (M154A) and 1 dog bone armchair (M154C) along with a wheat buffet (M592) and Harmonic china hutch (M995 and M996) in platinum finish all available for purchase separately (last image shows 3 of the chairs along with china hutch)
Decade: This one was made in 1956 according to the Roland Heywood guide

- original finish
- some minor seam splits on edges of top shown in images
- wear to finish shown in images (i am told the original owner always sat her coffee there) along with some darkened discoloration on other drop leaf
- minor scratches and scuffs to top surface and legs
- one swing leg has darkened discoloration to it that is probably old moisture darkening
- extremely slight bow of leaves (not noticeable when utilizing) to top surface from weight of solid wood top and only 1 center bottom brace on each underside from original design
- minor scuffs to all surfaces
- some oxidation to metal underside hinges
- piece has been fully cleaned and polished (the wood was quite dry)
- overall gorgeous in person but be sure to ask for more images or more details if any questions
