Vintage 40s Navy Blue Large Platter Picture Hat Details:
- classic 40s platter hat trimmed with lighter blue velvet bows at edge of wide brim
- crown has piece that dips down to fit snuggly against the head and then frame face with stand out brim
- style that was quite popular with young women in the mid 40s
- from my personal collection shown in an old photo of me in hat worn far back though it optionally can be worn with the brim horizontal
Material: unsure but it is finely woven and natural
Decade: 1940s

Condition: Very Good
- much of the hat has been fully reworked as crown was sewn back on to brim and crown inner trim has been replaced as original piping was shredded so was replaced with a synthetic piping tape
- some makeup residue on inner grosgrain band that was taken off and sewn back on
- label has damage to it and has been reattached
- 4 repairs to hat at edge where wire brim is (one longer one on side back and 3 small ones on same area on right side
- bows have missing velvet and fading
- presents beautifully in person but may need steaming to reshape after shipping

4" top center crown to bottom of crown sides
This will require a large box to ship due to size of hat.
Shipping: Once a package leaves my hands with USPS or UPS it is out of my control. I do not refund if packages are lost in the mail or do not arrive in the expected time as this is beyond my control. I try to ship the day of an order or the next day if ordered Sunday - Friday but must wait until Monday to ship packages ordered Saturday or Sunday.
