Vintage 40s Frilled Black Tilt Pillbox Hat Details:
- cardboard lined pillbox top that tilts toward the face
- top slightly pops in for dimension
- back felt ring is woven with black belt to create a frilly look a the back of the head
- lined with a black grosgrain ribbon band
- you can set hair many different ways with the tilt and frill ring
Closure: fits securely on head by pulling ring out to create tension after it slips on
Material: felted wool
Decade: 1940s
Brands/tags: New York Creations and marked 23 on Consumer's Protection Label, stamp on inside of hat in green marking felt but has faded so I can't read
Condition: Very good - one tiny pin hole pointed to in image on top of crown but only noticed when held to light so would never show up, light makeup on grosgrain inner band, part of cardboard pillbox ring bent but hat still holds shape well. Presents beautifully in person
