Antique Victorian 1800s Cast Metal Plant or Oil Sconce Stand Details:
- antique metal stand that would originally be used as an African violet stand or as a stand for a large home or building to hold, fill and light oil lamps that could then be carried to various rooms
- has one missing bracket that was repaired with a screw long ago but still fully functions
- arms swing and center pole tri-metal can be adjusted to various heights with a screw
- holds 10 plants or oil lamps
- last image shows stand in natural light
- would be beautiful with candles or lamps for a magical evening outside
Decade: later 1800s
Condition: Good
- one downward facing arm prong broken off long ago and someone added a screw that screws into the arm to sit down and make it still functional. It wasn't wide enough to fill the hole so i added just electrical tape to help fill the hole and hold the sconce arm straighter
- unsure of age of paint but it has a lovely chippy look to it with some loose chips at inner openings
- original cast metal is lightweight and a bright silver color and shows through where the paint has chipped
- this has been cleaned as had many layers of dust in the crevices and some is still there but adds nice dimension to create shadow
- this will ship with the center pole unscrewed from the base so will simply need to be twisted back on to make it function
