1900s Antique Arts and Crafts Brass Repousse Hearts Ink Well Tray Details:
- brass tray that would have held a glass ink well in the center
- arts and crafts design with puffed repousse hearts on the handles along with vining hearts design on the tray base
- no ink well included but I have only seen one example of this specific design in copper that included a cut glass square well with a brass hinged lid
- has not been polished in a very long time so will leave that up to the new owner to decide whether to do so or not
- no markings so designer unknown on my part
- shown in natural light last image
Condition: Very good
- still functional but lots of scratches and gauges along with an uneven patina
- looks like possible burn marks on various edges of it so it could have been used as an ashtray at some point
- has a bit of corrosion on it in various areas and some faint rust which looks like it is from another source like it sat on a metal table that rusted or that it had something metal sit in the ink well opening that was metal and rusted
- some left over polish in various areas from long ago that wasn't properly wiped off
- overall a lovely presentation even with the uneven patina
