50s Vintage Heavily Wounded Gray Circle Applique Medium Skirt Suit Details:
- gray and white weave with red and maybe black houndstooth circle appliqués to upper chest, lower side and one sleeve cuff area
- this suit maintains its amazing shape but has been a moth feast
- looks like original buttons
- original side metal talon brand zipper on skirt topped with button
- skirt is partially lined, jacket is fully lined
- example of this circle appliqué shown on model Dorian Leigh on an advertisement from 1952
- best for a larger size medium with a 29" natural waistline but please see both skirt and jacket measurements to ensure a good fit
Condition: Fair due to moth holes
- this is being sold as is with no returns due to the amount of mole holes on both the jacket and mostly back of skirt
- doesn't appear to be any stains other than on lining due to the moth nibbles
- too many moth nibbles to fully describe but major one on bottom back of skirt near kick pleat, on jacket there are a few larger ones on the front bodice, smaller ones lower and some others on the sleeves, back (please see images as i tried to show the major ones in close ups)
- If you want to darn or patch, it would be possible versus the high cost of reweaving
- I de fuzzed this forever but static electricity must be high here so may be a stray fuzz or two I missed
- being sold as was found so has not been cleaned, has a dusty odor
