Vintage Railroad Tie Nail Details:
These nails were owned by a man that worked at C & O Railroad. They are likely from C & O. In the late 1800s, railroads started driving these nails into railroad ties to know when to replace the tie. They are sold individually but I can combine multiples for shipping. Some nails are round headed, some are square depending on the year. Measurements: Approximately 2.5" X .5" (this varies per nail) Please see photos as 2.5" is just the average for all of the nails from 1922-1959 in this whole collection. Condition: Each is in various condition. They all have oxidation. Some are bent. Others have dirt. These have all been used on the tracks.
