1900s Antique Copper Clad Archibald Knox Design Tea Caddy Box Details:
- designed by Archibald Knox known for being the chief designer at Liberty
- made by Jennings Brothers in Massachusetts
- copper clad
- I believe it was originally used as a tea caddy with cover when designed for Liberty but think when Jennings Brothers produced it they intended it to be a humidor and added a piece to the bottom of the lid where a moist cloth could be kept to make it a humidor though this one is missing the added piece
-stamped on bottom "JB, 2765"
Condition: Good
- still functional but lots of scratches and gauges along with an uneven patina
- missing small gauges to copper cladding where it looks like it was clad over pewter possibly (one of these spots pointed to in images), bottom of box has what looks like possibly some candle wax remnants
- bent edges and rough inner finish to lid all that can be seen in images so please review in detail
- overall a lovely presentation even with the uneven patina as it gives it a rustic, well used appearance
